Size: 8ft 11in x 1ft 11in (272 x 58cm).Antique North West Chinese Ningxia bench runner.
Circa 1900.
A good example of a Chinese Ningxia bench runner, these were used to cover the benches in Chinese monasteries. This example consists of five meditation squares, it was woven as a single piece. The are often cut up into the individual squares and sold as meditation mats.
The runner is in excellent condition with slight even wear and good pile. There is one small old repair that is very well blended with the original.
The runner is suitable for normal domestic use.
The runner has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
