Size: 3ft 3in x 2ft 5in (100 x 73cm).Antique Afghan Kizil Ayak Turkmen prayer rug with rams horn design to the Mihrab.
Circa 1900.
A very good small prayer rug, the rams horn design in this format is associated with the Turkmen tribes; especially the Ersari / Kizil Ayak, who settled in Northern Afghanistan. Note the stars either side of the rans horns. The rug has superb colour with a very warm palette.
The rug is in excellent condition with slight wear and good pile.
The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
