Description
Size: 5ft 5in x 2ft 10in (166 x 87cm).Antique Afghan Bahluli Baluch rug with a repeat design.
Circa 1900.
The rug has a strong colour palette giving it a bold appearance, the design of birds head lozenges is found in some Turkmen rugs as well, but the scroll border design is typical of this Baluch group. The side bindings are in goats hair.
The rug is in good condition with some even wear and medium pile. The rug retains the original kilim ends which are ragged in places, there is some wear to the side bindings in places, (the price reflects this).
The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use.
