Size: 4ft 2in x 2ft 11in (128x 89cm).Antique Timuri Baluch camel ground prayer rug with Turkmen related design.
Circa 1880.
A good camel ground Timuri Baluch prayer rug with Turkmen related design to the field. The hand placements contain a stylized tree design. The border designs are all associated with the Timuri tribes of Western Afghanistan.
The rug is in good condition with slight even wear, and good pile. The wool is soft to the touch, especially the camel colour. There are a few scattered old repairs.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
