An outstanding English pewter soup tureen and cover by Thomas Alderson made for the Coronation banquet of King George IV, held in Westminster Hall in 1821. The Tureen and cover both carry the Royal cypher for King George IV, the tureen also has a good set of touch marks for Thomas Alderson to the base.
The Tureen is of large size with handles to each side and a matching handle to the cover. The cover is of double dome form. The tureen stands on four claw and ball feet.
A superb collectable display item in outstanding original condition.

Fine pair of Antique English pewter 8.85in multiple reeded plates.
By William Greenbanck II of Worcester.
Worked about 1695 - 1714.


A fine pair of  English pewter multiple reeded plates.
There are clear makers hall marks to the front rim of each plate.
They are the marks of William Greenbanck II of Worcester.
Ownership initials 'AI' to the front rim of each plate.
One plate has a small cross engraved on the rim next to the ownership initials.
Rubbed touch mark to the reverse of each plate.

The plates have been polished to the face and are identical in colour (variation in the images is due to lighting).
Backs are clean but not polished.
There are no repairs.
Collectable plates suitable for display.

Antique German pewter 9in bowl.

Worked 1670 - 1701.


A rare shallow bowl with incised and reeded rim, 9 inch diameter (22.5cm), with 'angel' decoration to the bowl. 
The decoration to the inside of the bowl is very delicate and most unusual, there are traces of an inscription to the very centre of the bowl (this is possibly a touch mark).
Clear makers marks for Sebastian Friedrich of Landsberg Am Lech, Bavaria; to the rear.

The bowl is very fine and has a very tactile feel, the bowl has a polished silver grey colour to the face and reverse.

A superb rare collectable display item.

The rim measures 3.0cm on each side.

Antique English pewter lidded tankard, 1 quart Old English Wine Standard.
Circa 1780.

A fine tankard with double dome lid, bulbous drum with fillet on a large flared foot.
Double scroll handle with fishtail terminal.
Open chair back thumb piece.
The hinge to the lid looks to be original with no repair.
There are no visible makers marks that I can find.

I have measured the capacity and it is about 33 fl oz; so 1 quart to the Old English Wine Standard.

The tankard has a polished silver grey finish, there is possibly a repair to the handle terminal (see detailed images).

Height to top of dome lid: 19cm (7.5in).
