Description
Size: 4ft 3in x 2ft 10in (130 x 86cm).Antique Baluch camel ground prayer rug with tree of life.
Circa 1900.
The rug is very well drawn with a tree of life and has excellent soft colour, the camel wool ground is very soft. Note the small square hand placements either side of the mihrab. The rug retains long kilims at both ends.
The rug is in fair condition with some wear and medium pile. The rug has been reduced in length by a cut across the width as can be clearly seen in the images, there are also some old repairs. There is some corrosion to the browns as one would expect. The rug will still stand up to floor use.
The rug has been hand washed and ready for use or display.
The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
