Description
Size: 4ft 1in x 3ft 1in (125 x 95cm).Antique Western Anatolian Bergama region village prayer rug, of double niche design.
Circa 1900.
A classic design from this region but alas the rug has been very well used and is now fragmented. The rug has heavy wear and holes through the foundation, there are also areas of re-piling. The rug retains parts of the original stripped kilim ends.
The rug could be mounted on linen for display or even taken on as a restoration project, the price reflects the fragmented condition.
