Description
Size: 5ft 3in x 2ft 9in (160 x 83cm).Antique Baluch rug, with traditional repeat herati design often found in Salar Khani weavings.
Circa 1900.
A very nice small Baluch rug, with a well drawn variation of the herati design in clear colours.
The rug has good wool quality, with madder red on a dark indigo blue ground, note the highlights in yellow and ivory.
Very slight even wear with almost full pile, very soft wool, goats hair side bindings. The rug has suffered with some old moth damage, there is a very small finger tip size hole, slight damage to the lower end fringe a some wear to the side bindings. These could all easily be repaired and we would be happy to quote for this. The existing faults are reflected in the price.
Hand washed and ready for use or display. Suitable for normal domestic use.
