This exceptional tribal carpet originates from the border regions of norther Afghanistan. The abrashed indigo blue field is covered in stylised floral designs in red, outlined in yellow and ivory. The field glimmers in various shades of blue as sunlight passes across it. The wide border is of the most well known Beshir designs. A truly outstanding carpet with a wonderful array of colour.
Excellent condition with very slight even wear and good thick pile, as can be seen in the images there is a faded repair to the lower kilim end.

This is a good example of an Ersari Turkmen main carpet, the three rows of six large Ersari guls are separated by well drawn minor guls. The border is of a traditional Ersari design. The carpet has a warm colour palette with reds and burnt orange along with indigo blues.

The carpet is in fair condition with even wear with medium pile, there is a wear crease line on the left hand side (shown in a close up image), the carpet is also slightly irregular in shape. These minor faults are reflected in the price.

The carpet has a rich colour palette with seven colours. The boarder is a very well drawn example of a classic curl leaf design. The carpet is of a rare format with three rows of ten 'tauk-nauska' guls. Eight or the rows of main guls containing the rare 'C' design to the centre. The large deep elems at both ends are decorated with small Turkmen trees or shrubs, this is typical of Karadashli main carpets.

The carpet is of a very unusual size, being longer than most that are available. The carpet is of a deep burgundy red colour with soft pink red to the guls and border. The border is a traditional Turkmen octagon design with many interesting elements.
The carpet is in good condition with even wear heavier in a few places, with medium to low pile. There is a small old stain in the top left hand corner in the border, this can only be seen with close inspection, (see image).

The carpet has two rows of six large Tauk Nuska guls containing four small animals, the carpet has a clear red ground. The carpet is framed by a border with traditional design. The carpet retains its original kilims at both ends.
These carpets have been studied and widely discussed within the rug world, in error the trade have called them Karakalpak / Qaraqalpaqs, after this central Asian nomadic group, but research has shown these carpets to be the work of the Uzbek Turkmen people who lived in the Nurata and Jizzax regions of Uzbekistan.
The carpet is in good condition with even wear with medium pile. There are a number of old repairs to the field.

This is an interesting fragment from a small known group of Ersari carpets with an all over star design. The carpet has a deep red field with the stars in octagons either with a dark indigo blue or an ivory background, the large stars are separated by smaller stars,
The carpet is in poor condition with even wear and medium pile, the carpet is missing the borders on the left hand side and has losses all around along with some holes and other damages.
This is an interesting study piece that would also display well.
