This fine carpet has 3 rows of 6 large goli guls with large minor guls and other filler elements in the field. The main guls are of a superb large size and very round in shape.
The carpet is of a tradition Ersari orang/red colour with the design in indigo blue.
The carpet is of a useful square size, note the original long kilims at both ends.
The carpet is in fair condition with even wear, heavier in places and medium/low pile with a few finger tip size holes. There is also some damage to the sides as can be seen in the close up images. The carpet would be best suited if fitted on a good underlay. The condition is reflected in the price.

A good example of one of the most beautiful of all nomadic tribal designs woven by the Khamseh tribe. The rug has a large central medallion, the colours give a wonderful soft warm feel.

Circa 1880.
An good old runner with interesting shrub design on a yellow / gold ground. The runner is beautifully drawn with an outstanding border that frames the runner and contrasts well with the yellow. A runner with that 'country house' well used lived with look.
Poor condition with heavy wear as can be seen in the images and low pile, there are areas of old re-piling. The runner could still be used in a light traffic area with a good underlay. This is also a suitable candidate as a restoration project. The price reflects the condition.

Afghan village prayer rug of unusual design in mixed technique.
Circa 1930.
The prayer rug is woven on a camel coloured ground with the design in pile, this gives a textured relief to the rug. The design is unusual in its very simple form with what appears to be 4 people standing in the field.
The rug is in fair condition with very slight wear, unfortunately there is some colour transfer from the red in the border to the field around it, the price reflects this fault.

A classic design from this region but alas the rug has been very well used and is now fragmented. The rug has heavy wear and holes through the foundation, there are also areas of re-piling. The rug retains parts of the original stripped kilim ends.
The rug could be mounted on linen for display or even taken on as a restoration project, the price reflects the fragmented condition.
